3 Things You Should Consider When Joining a Gym.
- Convenience: Location is important, something that’s under 30 min away is probably ideal. Also, the length of the workout comes into play too if you don’t want to spend all day in the gym.
- Coaching: Is there someone holding you accountable that is knowledgeable and has the communication skills to help you get to the next level?
- Community: Having people in your corner to support you is the key to keeping going when you feel like quitting, and we all feel like quitting from time to time. Surrounding yourself with positive supportive people is really the key to success. There are my 3 key ingredients to a successful fitness community. Coach: a coach is skilled at seeing everyone in the room and speaking to each person’s individual needs. They give you the corrections you need yet keep the cohesive nature of the group. Cornerman: this person keeps your commitment in check. This could be a spouse, partner, family member, bff. But they are there for you when you need it. Caretaker: This person takes care of all the little things to make life convenient and easier to get the important stuff done. This could be a meal delivery service, a cleaning person, or someone who helps keep you organized.
